Biltmore Forest is a small mountain town just south of Asheville, home to 1,600 residents living among strictly protected old-growth trees. Take I-40 to Exit 50, then Highway 25 South (Hendersonville Road) to reach this forested enclave near the famous Biltmore Estate. The town requires permits to remove any tree over six inches in diameter.
