Big Falls is a tiny Minnesota community of 136 people in Koochiching County, about 25 miles southeast of International Falls via Highway 6. Most visitors come from International Falls or connect through county roads from Grand Rapids to the south. The town sits along the Bigfork River in Minnesota's northern forest region. Big Falls gets its name from an actual waterfall on the Bigfork River where water cascades over a rocky ledge.
