Big Creek is a tiny Mississippi community of 124 people in rural Calhoun County, accessible via State Route 9 which connects north to Pittsboro and south to Bruce. The nearest major city is Tupelo, about 45 miles northeast, while I-55 lies 30 miles west through Grenada. The town gets its name from the actual Big Creek that flows through the area.
