Bessie is a small farming community in western Oklahoma, about 25 miles southwest of Clinton via State Highway 54 and county roads. From Oklahoma City, take I-40 west to Clinton, then head south and west on state highways. The town sits in wheat country where Oklahoma's central plains meet the western frontier, surrounded by rolling grassland and agricultural fields. Clinton Sherman Airport, a former Air Force base, operates nearby as a regional facility.
