Bernalillo sits along I-25 about 20 miles north of Albuquerque, serving as Sandoval County's seat in the Rio Grande Valley. The city connects easily to Santa Fe via I-25 north and to the Four Corners region via Highway 550 northwest. Rail Runner commuter trains link Bernalillo to both Albuquerque and Santa Fe. The historic plaza dates to 1695, making it one of America's oldest continuously inhabited communities.
