Benton is a farming town of about 900 people in Butler County, 25 miles northeast of Wichita via US 254. Most visitors arrive from I-35 near El Dorado or drive up from Wichita through Augusta. The town sits in rolling wheat country with wide-open prairie views. Its massive concrete grain elevator from the 1920s still towers over Main Street, processing grain from local farms.
