Benson is a farming community in west-central Minnesota, about two hours northwest of Minneapolis via Highway 12. The town sits at the junction of Highways 12 and 29, making it a natural stop for travelers heading to the Alexandria lakes region or continuing west toward South Dakota. The Benson Municipal Airport serves general aviation, and the restored 1915 Carnegie Library downtown showcases original oak woodwork and period stained glass.
