Bemus Point is a tiny lakeside village on Chautauqua Lake's western shore, about 15 miles from Jamestown via scenic Route 430. Most visitors arrive from I-86 Exit 8, following the shoreline route that offers lake views. The village sits on a peninsula jutting into the lake's southern basin, making it a popular summer destination for boating and swimming. The historic Bemus Point-Stow Ferry has been shuttling passengers across the lake since 1811.
