Belington is a small Appalachian city of 1,800 in north-central West Virginia, positioned along the Tygart Valley River. US Route 250 runs through town, connecting north to Philippi and south 20 miles to Elkins, where major highways converge. The nearest airport is Elkins-Randolph County Regional, about 25 miles southeast. The city features one of West Virginia's few remaining covered bridges that still carries vehicle traffic across the Tygart Valley River.
