Beemer is a farming town in northeast Nebraska, about 70 miles northwest of Omaha via I-680 and Highway 275. The hour-plus drive passes through agricultural country to this community of 775 people. Highway 275 connects Beemer east to Norfolk and west toward the Sandhills, while Highway 9 provides north-south access. The town's water tower features a bobcat mascot, honoring the local high school's multiple state football championships.
