Bee Cave is an upscale lakeside community about 20 miles west of Austin along Highway 71, known for its Hill Country setting and Lake Austin access. The main route follows Highway 71 west from Austin, while Highway 620 runs north-south along the lake. Named after a limestone cave that early settlers found filled with bee colonies.
