Becker is a small Minnesota city about 50 miles northwest of Minneapolis, easily reached via Highway 10. The town of 5,000 sits in lake country along the Mississippi River, with Highway 25 providing north-south connections to St. Cloud. Most visitors are Twin Cities commuters or weekend lake-goers. The massive Xcel Energy power plant's twin cooling towers make Becker visible from miles away across the prairie.
