Beaver Dam is a small Kentucky city on the Western Kentucky Parkway, about 90 miles from Louisville. Highway 62 runs through downtown, connecting to Owensboro and Central City. Most visitors use the parkway from Louisville or take I-65 from Nashville. The town sits in rolling farmland with a humid subtropical climate. The high school football stadium seats more people than live in the entire city.
