Bearden is a tiny rural community in east-central Oklahoma, about an hour southeast of Oklahoma City via I-40 and Highway 56. With just 136 residents, it sits among rolling farmland in Okfuskee County. The drive takes you through increasingly rural countryside, with the final approach on county roads branching off Highway 56. The town was named after an early settler family.
