Bayard is a small mountain community of 299 people in eastern West Virginia's Grant County. Located along US Route 50, it's about 15 miles west of Romney and 45 miles from Grafton, making it accessible for both local commuters and visitors from central West Virginia or the Baltimore-Washington area via Interstate 68. The town sits in a valley where several mountain streams converge to form the North Branch Potomac River.
