Baxter Estates is a tiny waterfront village on Long Island's North Shore, tucked into Port Washington about 20 miles east of Manhattan. Reach it via the LIE or Northern State Parkway, then local roads to Manhasset Neck Road. LaGuardia Airport is just 12 miles west. Despite having only 1,100 residents, it maintains its own police force.
