Basalt is a small farming town in southeastern Idaho, about 20 miles northwest of Blackfoot via Highway 91. Most visitors come from Pocatello (35 miles) or Idaho Falls (45 miles) using Highway 91 to Interstate 15. The town celebrates its agricultural roots with an annual Potato Festival each September.
