Barron is a small county seat in northwestern Wisconsin, about 100 miles from the Twin Cities via US Highway 8 and State Highway 25. The town serves surrounding dairy farms and offers access to nearby lakes and the Chequamegon National Forest. Rice Lake Regional Airport lies 10 miles south for private aircraft. The historic courthouse square downtown preserves its original 1800s grid layout with the county courthouse at its center.
