Barrett is a small farming town in west-central Minnesota's Grant County, sitting on Barrett Lake about 25 miles north of Interstate 94. Highway 27 runs through town connecting to Alexandria and the Twin Cities area. The community of 349 people is surrounded by agricultural land, numerous lakes, and prairie landscape. Barrett's historic grain elevator still operates today as both a working facility and local landmark.
