Bardwell is a small farming town in western Kentucky's Carlisle County, about 35 miles west of Paducah via US Highway 62. The town sits in rich Mississippi River bottomland where corn, soybeans, and tobacco dominate the landscape. Highway 62 provides the main east-west route through town, while State Route 123 runs north-south to communities like Wickliffe. Just west of Bardwell, the historic Dorena-Hickman Ferry still carries vehicles across the Mississippi River to Missouri.
