Banks is a small farming community about 25 miles west of Portland along Highway 6, the main route to the Oregon Coast. With just over 2,100 residents, it sits in rolling Tualatin Valley farmland where Highway 47 intersects the coastal highway. The town serves as a rural gateway between Portland's suburbs and the Coast Range, hosting an annual July Quilt Show that showcases local quilting traditions.
