Ball, a small Louisiana city of about 4,000, sits 15 miles northwest of Alexandria on Highway 165. The main route connects directly to Alexandria International Airport, about 20 miles southeast. Most traffic uses Highway 165 for commutes to Alexandria or longer trips toward Monroe. The area features rolling hills and pine forests typical of central Louisiana.
