Bakersfield is a tiny Ozark Mountains community of under 200 people in south-central Missouri. Highway 5 provides the main access, connecting to Highway 14 for longer trips to Springfield (80 miles northeast) or Arkansas points south. The area draws visitors to Mark Twain National Forest and offers excellent trout fishing on the nearby North Fork of the White River, known for its surprisingly large rainbow trout.
