united states

Baggs is a tiny ranching town in south-central Wyoming, five miles from Colorado on Highway 789. It sits at 6,200 feet in high desert country where cattle outnumber people. The main route runs north to Rawlins (60 miles) and south to Craig, Colorado (30 miles). Most traffic consists of ranchers, through travelers between Denver and northern Wyoming, and hunters during season. The 1916 Baggs Hotel still anchors the wide main street, built when the town shipped cattle by rail.
