Babbitt is a small Iron Range town in northeastern Minnesota, about 60 miles north of Duluth via Highway 169. Originally built around iron mining, the community of 1,400 sits in forested terrain near the Boundary Waters region. The main route runs through Virginia and Eveleth, while Highway 1 connects east to Ely. The former Embarrass Mine pit now serves as a popular fishing destination for northern pike and walleye.
