Ayden is a small eastern North Carolina town of about 5,000 people, located 15 miles southwest of Greenville on US Highway 11. Most visitors arrive via US 264 from Raleigh (90 miles) or I-95 connections through Wilson. The town sits in tobacco and pine country with a humid subtropical climate. Ayden is famous as the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola, where Caleb Bradham first created the recipe in 1893.
