Avon is a growing suburb on Indianapolis's west side, connected to the capital by US Route 36 and just inside the I-465 beltway. The city offers easy highway access via I-70 to the south for longer trips, while local routes primarily serve commuters heading to Indianapolis jobs and attractions. Indianapolis International Airport is about 15 miles away via the interstate system. The town hosts the popular Hendricks County Fair each summer at its 4-H Fairgrounds and Conference Complex.
