Avalon is a barrier island town on the Jersey Shore, reached via the Garden State Parkway to Exit 13, then Route 109 east. Day-trippers drive 15 minutes from Cape May Court House, while weekend visitors come from Philly (90 minutes) or NYC (3 hours). The town sits on Seven Mile Island with Stone Harbor and features some of New Jersey's tallest remaining coastal dunes at 30 feet high.
