Austin is a small Arkansas city in Lonoke County, located 25 miles northeast of Little Rock via Highway 31. The main route connects north to Beebe and south toward the capital, while Highway 367 provides eastern access to Cabot. Most long-distance travelers use local roads to reach Interstate 40, about 10 miles south. The town of 3,915 maintains its agricultural character while serving commuters to Little Rock area jobs. Austin's annual Founder's Day parade each September draws visitors from across the region.
