Austell lies 20 miles northwest of Atlanta via I-20, accessible through exits 44 and 46. US 278 runs east-west through town while Route 5 provides north-south access. The city sits in rolling Piedmont hills with a humid subtropical climate. Six Flags Over Georgia, one of the Southeast's major theme parks, operates along the Chattahoochee River here.
