Aurora is a small Iron Range town in northeastern Minnesota, connected by US Highway 169 and State Highway 135. Most visitors drive up from Duluth via US 53 and US 169, about 75 miles through mining country. The town sits near the Hull-Rust-Mahoning Mine viewpoint, known as the "Grand Canyon of the North."
