Auburn is a small city in northeast Georgia, about 50 miles from Atlanta via I-85 north to Exit 129 and Highway 211 east. The town sits in Barrow County's rolling hills between Atlanta's suburbs and the Georgia mountains. Highway 211 serves as the main local route, connecting Auburn to Winder and Commerce. The restored 1904 railroad depot downtown houses the city's welcome center and still features original ticket windows.
