Astoria is a small farming town of about 1,000 people in west-central Illinois, 30 miles northwest of Peoria. Take US Route 24 west from Peoria to Route 101 north for the most direct access. The town sits in rolling prairie country and serves surrounding agricultural communities. Its restored 1899 opera house still hosts live theater productions downtown.
