Aspermont, the Stonewall County seat, sits in west Texas ranch country about 60 miles northeast of Abilene. US Highway 83 runs directly through town, providing the main north-south route, while State Highway 380 connects east-west to Haskell and beyond. The 1922 red brick courthouse remains one of the region's finest examples of early 20th-century rural courthouse architecture.
