Ashton-Sandy Spring is an unincorporated community in northern Montgomery County, about 25 miles from D.C. Take Georgia Avenue (Route 97) north from the Beltway or connect via I-270 to Route 109. The area blends suburban neighborhoods with horse farms and rural properties. The historic Ashton Grist Mill from 1815 still operates and gives weekend tours.
