Ashley is a small Pennsylvania borough of 2,600 people in Luzerne County's Wyoming Valley, just five miles north of Wilkes-Barre. Drivers access it via Interstate 81 or Route 309, with Routes 11 and 115 handling local traffic. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport is 20 miles southwest. Ashley's claim to fame is the historic Ashley Planes, stone foundations from an 1830s inclined railway that once hauled coal cars up the mountainside.
