Ashland is a farming community of about 1,000 people in central Illinois, sitting along the Illinois River valley. Route 78 runs right through town, connecting north to Beardstown and south to Jacksonville. Most visitors arrive via Interstate 72, then take Route 78 north for about 20 miles. The town's massive concrete grain elevator dominates the skyline and has been serving local farmers for over 80 years.
