Arp is a small East Texas town of about 1,100 people located 15 miles southwest of Tyler on Highway 155. Visitors typically arrive from Tyler via Highway 155 or connect from Interstate 20 about 30 miles south. The town sits in rolling pine forest country with red clay soil typical of the region. Arp Cemetery contains graves of the area's earliest settlers, including the founding Arp family.
