Arispe is a farming town of 78 people in Union County, about 15 miles southwest of Creston via Highway 25. Most visitors arrive on US 34 to the Highway 25 junction, then head south through corn and soybean country. The town sits at nearly 1,400 feet elevation on Iowa's "backbone," making it one of the state's highest communities.
