Argyle is a small farming town in southwestern Wisconsin's Lafayette County, reached via Highway 81 about 25 miles southeast of Platteville. The area features the distinctive rolling hills of Wisconsin's driftless region, where dairy farms and crop fields stretch between wooded ridges. Highway 81 connects locally to Platteville, while longer trips require routes northeast to Highway 151 near Dodgeville for access to Madison and major interstates. The town preserves a rare operating one-room schoolhouse museum with original 1890s furnishings.
