Argyle is a tiny Missouri community of 117 people in Osage County's farm country, about 40 minutes west of Jefferson City via Highway 28. The main route from St. Louis takes Interstate 44 to Highway 28 for a 90-minute drive through rolling hills and river valleys. Most visitors are locals or fishermen heading to Gasconade River access points. The town's old general store still operates from its original building that once served river travelers.
