United States

Argonia is a small farming town of about 540 people in south-central Kansas, roughly 50 miles southwest of Wichita. US Highway 160 runs directly through town, connecting to the regional road network, while Kansas Highway 2 provides north-south access. Most visitors drive from Wichita via US-54 west to Kingman, then US-160 west. The town made history in 1887 by electing America's first female mayor, 27-year-old Susanna Madora Salter.
