Arcola is a small east-central Illinois city of about 3,000 people, located 30 miles southeast of Champaign via US Route 45. Most visitors take I-57 to Exit 203, then follow Route 133 west for 8 miles. The town sits in flat prairie farmland and serves as a regional hub between university towns and rural areas. Arcola calls itself the "Broom Corn Capital of the World" and celebrates this heritage each September with its annual Broom Corn Festival.
