Antlers is the county seat of Pushmataha County in southeastern Oklahoma's forested hills. US Highway 271 is the main route, connecting south to Hugo and north toward the Talimena Scenic Drive. State Highway 2 provides east-west access from the Arkansas border. The surrounding Ouachita National Forest creates a landscape more reminiscent of Arkansas than typical Oklahoma plains. The 1914 sandstone courthouse on Main Street features a working clock tower that still chimes hourly.
