Angola sits on Lake Erie's eastern shore, 25 miles southwest of Buffalo via I-90 to Exit 57A, then Route 5 south. Route 5 serves as the main lakeside corridor connecting the town to Buffalo and Pennsylvania. The area features flat terrain rising gently from the lake, with continental climate and notable lake-effect snow. Angola is home to the historic 1875 Angola Light Station lighthouse.
