Amory sits along US 278 in northeastern Mississippi, about 35 miles east of Columbus and 90 miles from Birmingham. This railroad town of 6,500 connects to Tupelo via Highway 25 north and Meridian via Highway 69 south. The restored 1918 Illinois Central depot houses the world's largest railroad museum dedicated to that historic line.
