Amesville is a village of about 200 people in southeastern Ohio's Athens County, accessible via State Route 329 from US Route 33. Most visitors come from Athens (15 miles) or make the 70-mile drive from Columbus. The area features rolling Appalachian foothills with mixed forests and small creeks. The village maintains one of Ohio's oldest continuously operating general stores, still serving customers from its original 1800s wooden building.
