American Falls lies along Interstate 86 in southeastern Idaho, about 30 miles west of Pocatello and accessible via I-84 from Salt Lake City. This Snake River town serves as Power County's seat, surrounded by irrigated farmland and high desert under big skies. The original waterfalls disappeared when the 1920s dam created today's reservoir, now a regional fishing and recreation hub.
