Amber is a farming town of 445 people in central Oklahoma's Grady County. It sits on Highway 9, about 45 miles south of Oklahoma City via I-35 and 10 miles west of Chickasha. Most traffic comes from Chickasha for daily needs, while longer trips connect through Oklahoma City or Lawton. The town features one of Oklahoma's few working grain elevators from the early 1900s, a concrete tower that dominates the prairie horizon.
