Altus is a small Arkansas River Valley town of about 800 people, located on Highway 64 between Ozark and Russellville. The community sits between the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains, with Highway 219 providing access north to Clarksville and the national forest. It's home to Post Familie Vineyards, Arkansas's oldest continuously operating winery since the 1880s.
